Named after the Roman god of war, nick-named the βRed Planetβ, Mars is the 4th planet from the Sun, and the 2nd smallest in the Solar System. With years almost twice as long as ones on Earth, and one tenth of the mass of Earth, Mars has two moons, Phobos and Deimos. Mars can be associated with battle, war, rebirth, rising from the ashes, power, authority, leadership, structure, being stripped of identity, over coming, and releasing. Illustrating a cycle of being stripped down to our purest self through destruction, then to rebirth into a new chapter of life, rebuilding back into a better and stronger self, able to take lead where we are most needed on our own path. It demonstrates an un-stoppable power of releasing the past, to build our own power to take charge in the now. In astrology the sign Mars was in on the date of your birth is said to represent how you pursue your goals, handle conflict, assert your self, and both attack and defend. Mars represents two elements, water and fire, ruling over the zodiac sings: Scorpio and Aries. Glyph - β
