Mercury Baby doll is inspired by the planet, Mercury. Natural ruler for Virgo, and Gemini, the planet of communication, intellect, scheduling, transportation and analytical thinking. The swiftest planet, smallest planet, and the planet closest to the sun. Mercury him self, aka Hermes, is known to be the messenger of the gods. I wanted to make the baby doll to be playful as I see Gemini to be a very playful and fun sign. But also with the white representing the maiden, Virgo, who is typically depicted in all white, representing purity.

The trim of the dress is made to represent angel wings as to represent both the god Mercury who is known for his winged shoes, helmet, and caduceus staff, and the maiden Virgos wings. The trim falls down the back of the dress in two spirals to represent the twin pillars depicted through out mythology and the tarot, and to represent the Gemini twins Astor and Pollux.

To mirror the actual planet of Mercury, the trim forms an X shape as Mercury is covered in many impact craters leaving rays of bright ejecta material streaks, creating the gird like lines on the planets surface that intersect each other. Points on the bottom of the Baby Doll to represent all the sharp lines formed by the ejecta rays massing over each other. Then 3 crystal craters to look like the craters covering Mercury’s surface. Mercury baby doll is completely handmade from chiffon. With each rhinestone individually placed. The back of the baby doll has an elastic band going around the back to keep the dress secure to your bust and an adjustable fit. The baby doll will also come with both a black and white ribbon to tie in the front.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Hand wash in cold water and gentle agitating the fabric. Hand To dry. Iron the ribbon after use to make brand new. If ironing is needed on the baby doll, use on medium to high heat and move the iron at all times, pressing lightly. Do not let it sit on the material, and iron AROUND the rhinestones, using the tip of the iron. Do not sit the iron on top the rhinestones!
